The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Mr Emmanuel Reagan Fynn, has urged national service personnel to prioritise professional networking to secure employment opportunities after completing their mandatory service year.
Speaking to the media at the NSA’s Ashanti Regional Delegates’ Conference in Kumasi on Wednesday, 17th June 2026, Mr Fynn emphasised that discipline and hard work are foundational traits required as personnel transition into the professional world.
He noted that national service represents the crucial first step into the world of work, highlighting the necessity for personnel to cultivate disciplined behaviour and a strong work ethic during their deployment.
Fostering Entrepreneurship and Collaboration
Echoing the call for proactive career development, the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon Ofori Agyemang Boadi, challenged the personnel to explore entrepreneurship rather than relying solely on a competitive job market.
Mr Boadi advised graduates from diverse fields to pool their skills and establish collaborative ventures.
He suggested that graduates of Civil Engineering or Marketing, for instance, could join forces to establish a consulting firm, noting that while the beginning may be difficult, such businesses can be sustained and grown through determination.
Recognising Key Partners and Stakeholders
The delegates’ conference also served as a platform to elect new executive officers and honour outstanding employees, partner institutions, and prominent individuals whose resources and dedication have helped the NSA overcome operational challenges in the region.
Mr Fynn commended the awardees for their proactive, consistent, and exceptional contributions to the Authority’s administrative and operational mandates.
Distinguished stakeholders recognised at the event included Kumasi Mayor Hon Ofori Agyemang Boadi; Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo Member of Parliament, Hon Adelaide Ntim; Asokwa Municipal Chief Executive Amoh Kamel; Juaben Municipal Chief Executive Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, and the management of Twelling Company.
