The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher at the Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following the circulation of a disturbing video on social media depicting alleged sexual misconduct between the educator and a student.
The disciplinary action was confirmed in an official press release issued on Tuesday, 16th June 2026, by the Head of Public Relations at the GES Headquarters, Daniel Fenyi.
According to the management of the service, an official investigation has been launched to look into the explicit footage.
Pending the outcome of these investigations, the teacher has been placed on immediate interdiction in strict accordance with the standard GES code of conduct rules and regulations.
The management strongly condemned the incident, reinforcing its strict stance on professional boundaries within academic institutions.
“Management strongly condemns all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students,” the statement read.
“The Service reiterates its zero-tolerance towards sexual misconduct and cautions all staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times.”
The GES assured the public, parents, and guardians that the matter is being handled with the utmost seriousness.
The statement emphasised that the institution’s commitment to ensuring a safe, protective, and supportive environment for all students nationwide, adding that appropriate legal and disciplinary actions will be pursued against anyone found culpable as the investigation progresses.
