The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Mr Fynn Emmanuel Reagan, has donated hot rice meals, bags of sachet water, and bottled soft drinks to inmates at the Kumasi Central Prisons.
Mr Reagan explained that the compassionate personal gesture made on Tuesday, 30th June 2026, was his individual effort to support the welfare of those currently incarcerated.

He used the occasion to call on corporate bodies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and philanthropists to step up and support correctional facilities across the country.
Receiving the items, the Regional Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Prisons Service, Chief Supt Richard Bukari, expressed profound gratitude for the donation.

He noted that while the government recently increased the daily feeding allowance per inmate from GHS 1.80 to GHS 5 — a move the administration highly appreciates —supplementary aid remains critical.
Mr Bukari explained that even with the increased feeding fee, external assistance is still required to adequately cater to the inmates.
He appealed to corporate stakeholders and private individuals to voluntarily donate to the facility to augment the government’s efforts.
Mr Bukari emphasised that the needs of the prison extend beyond daily meals.
The facility also needs essential medicines and healthcare supplies to ensure the proper well-being of the inmates.
He commended Mr Reagan for his timely benevolence, noting that the cooked meals and drinks would go a long way in boosting inmate morale, especially for those currently undergoing medical treatment or taking daily medications.
