The Madina Divisional Police Command has launched an investigation into a shooting incident on Sunday that left the politician and former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Hon Sarah Adwoa Safo, injured.
According to an official press release issued by the Ghana Police Service on 21st June 2026, the incident occurred at Kwabenya within the Greater Accra region.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Hon Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear while visiting her late father’s residence.
Following the attack, the victim reported the incident to the Kwabenya Police and presented a vehicle bearing registration number GN 3482-24, which showed visible gunshot damage.
Supt Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra region, confirmed that the victim has been issued a Police Medical Report Form and is currently receiving medical attention.
The damaged vehicle has been retained by the police for forensic examination.
Law enforcement authorities stated that investigations remain active to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify all persons involved.
