The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Pearl Patricia Ankrah, has concluded a comprehensive engagement tour across all 27 electoral areas in the district, pledging to integrate grassroots feedback into local policy decisions.
Accompanied by various heads of departments and units, Ms Ankrah embarked on the town hall-style tour on Monday, 22 June 2026, launching in Adwumakase and Aduman before concluding at Hemang and Ntiri Buoho on Tuesday, 21 July 2026.
The tour aimed to deepen local governance, gather community priorities, and account for ongoing assembly projects.
Empowering Local Communities and Infrastructure
To spur local economic activity and social inclusion, the DCE distributed business support items to persons with disabilities (PWDs) across the district.
This effort equips beneficiaries with the resources needed to establish self-reliant enterprises and reduce financial dependency.
Ms Ankrah announced that the assembly has rolled out 16 major infrastructure projects to improve living standards.
These investments encompass modern market centres, healthcare facilities, classroom blocks, mechanised boreholes, public sanitation units, and police posts to reinforce community security.
Sanitation Enforcement and “Tankass” Return
Addressing sanitation concerns, the DCE revealed that local sanitary inspectors, known locally as “Nsamansan” or “Tankass”, will be reintroduced in August this year to enforce environmental health standards.
She urged residents to maintain high hygienic standards, warning that community members who breach sanitation bye-laws face summons and prosecution.
Stakeholder Dialogue and Feedback
The tour drew active participation from diverse stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community elders, Assembly and Unit Committee members, youth groups, and local residents.
Expressing satisfaction with the high turnout and dialogue, Ms Ankrah assured constituents that their inputs would directly shape upcoming development plans and resource allocations for the district.
Several community members, including persons with disabilities, commended the initiative and engagement by the DCE.
