Ashanti Regional Chairman aspirant, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as “COKA,” has expressed total confidence in securing a decisive victory in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Regional executive elections, projecting he will sweep no less than 90 per cent of the total votes cast.
Speaking to the media at the venue of the election, COKA commended the party faithful for their dedication to internal democracy and the continued growth of the ruling party in its stronghold.
”This is an important day for our party,” Appiah said. “I am very grateful to the delegates and members of our party for their commitment to democracy and the growth of this party. I have shared my vision and mission with ideas for the delegates, and I believe today they are going to vote massively for me.”
COKA, who is contesting alongside former Bantama Member of Parliament Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, insisted that his momentum heading into the polls remains unshakeable.
”I am not expecting anything less than 90% of the total votes today. Nothing has changed, nothing is going to change. I am going to be the next regional chairman for the New Patriotic Party,” he added.
The regional chairmanship race forms part of a broader executive contest in the Ashanti Region, where 34 candidates are vying for 11 executive positions.
Approximately 1,022 delegates drawn from various constituencies across the region are casting their ballots to determine the party’s regional leadership.
Voting is currently underway under structured security and electoral supervision, with final results expected to be officially declared by the Electoral Commission following the completion of counting and collation.
