Amo Mensah Mark has been successfully cleared to contest the Youth Organiser position for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asokwa constituency, putting youth economic empowerment through self-employment at the centre of his campaign to secure historic party victories in the area.
Speaking to journalists after emerging from the party’s vetting process, Mark stated that his primary objective is to equip young people in Asokwa with the tools to launch their own business ventures, rather than relying solely on public sector employment.
He also pledged to lead a united front capable of delivering both the parliamentary seat and the presidential vote for the NDC in Asokwa for the first time.
”It will be my topmost priority to help the youth in Asokwa to be self-employed,” Mark said, adding, “I’m not going to be a youth organiser who’s going to sit down and look for government jobs. I’m going to help prepare them to create their own ventures. That is what I’m bringing on board.”
Reflecting on the screening exercise, Mark noted that the process was smooth and adhered to standard party procedures, dispelling earlier expectations of a tense session.
”I assumed it was going to be a tough vetting, but it has been the usual party process that we went through, so it wasn’t anything that tough,” he observed.
Mark expressed confidence that his vision and ongoing ward-level engagements will make the NDC increasingly attractive to the constituency’s youth demographic, steadily strengthening the party’s grassroots base.
Placed No. 1 on the official ballot, Mark appealed directly to Asokwa delegates to endorse his candidacy in the upcoming constituency executive elections.
