An aspirant for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairmanship in the Asokwa Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Napoleon Ade, has declared his readiness to lead the party to capture the parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2028 general elections, should he win the party’s upcoming internal executive polls.
The incumbent Constituency Vice Chairman made the declaration while addressing delegates after being cleared by the party’s vetting committee to contest the position. Ade secured the No. 1 position on the ballot paper.
”In 2028, whoever they bring—whether Mama Pat or any other NPP candidate—they must prepare well, because we will win Asokwa,” Ade asserted.
He added that he intends to engage the party’s national leadership directly to secure the necessary logistical support to flip the seat.
Highlighting his track record since his election as Vice Chairman in 2022, Ade promised to accelerate organisational growth and resource mobilisation within the constituency.
He committed to securing funding for constituency operations and building a robust campaign structure.
Looking ahead to the constituency’s internal polls, Ade expressed confidence in a decisive victory, projecting he would secure between 86 and 87 percent of the valid votes cast.
”I will never disappoint the delegates. My vision for Asokwa is simple: our party members who queue to vote for President John Dramani Mahama deserve support, and I am here to ensure the constituency delivers for them,” he said.
He urged his campaign team and supporters to maintain decorum and refrain from personal attacks, emphasising that internal unity remains essential to achieving the party’s broader targets.
”This internal election is a family matter. I do not want any supporter to insult my opponents, because our primary target is not the internal election, but the 2028 general elections,” Ade added.
