The Ashanti Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into allegations that a Chief Inspector stationed within the region has been operating unauthorised wooden structures and renting them out to commercial sex workers.
The investigation was officially announced in a press statement issued on Friday, 10th July 2026, by the Public Affairs Unit of the Regional Police Headquarters in Kumasi.
According to the statement, signed by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit, Supt Godwin Ahianyo, the illegal wooden structures are reportedly located at Asafo BB, a suburb within the region.
The Police Command emphasised that it is treating the allegations with the utmost seriousness.
“The Command takes the allegations seriously and wishes to assure the public that further developments following the investigations will be communicated,” the statement read.
