The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has commended the contractor handling the Agogoso D/A Primary School project for working assiduously to bring the structure near completion ahead of schedule.
The contractor, Belco Heavy Machinery and Construction Limited, was awarded the contract to construct a modern six-unit classroom block for the school, located in the Atwima Mponua District.
The project is aimed at drastically reducing classroom congestion and creating a more conducive learning environment for the pupils.
While the firm was originally given a 32-week deadline, it has remarkably achieved 95 percent completion within just 12 weeks.
Expressing his satisfaction during a site inspection, Dr Amoakohene stated he was deeply impressed by the contractor’s exceptional speed and efficiency.
He urged other local contractors to emulate this high standard of dedication and professionalism.
However, while inspecting another project at Nyinahin Senior High School, the Minister was not impressed with that contractor’s pace of work.
He urged the District Chief Executive to provide him with a weekly progress report on that project and others in the area.
Dr Amoakohene warned that the government would not tolerate delays on critical educational infrastructure.
Reacting to the Minister’s commendation, the Chief Executive Officer of Belco Heavy Machinery and Construction Limited assured that the remaining work on the Agogoso project would be completed well ahead of the final deadline, ready for immediate handover.
