Popular Adehye FM morning show host, Prince Ofori Atta, has officially entered the race for the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the party’s upcoming 2026 internal executive elections.
Campaigning under the moniker “POA2026,” Ofori Atta has anchored his bid on two central themes: “Service Above All” and “Changing the Narratives.”
He states these core pillars represent a dedicated commitment to fortifying the NDC’s internal structures and maximising its electoral fortunes in the crucial Ashanti region.
A Vision for Grassroots Renewal
Ofori Atta noted that his decision to run stems from a desire to drive meaningful growth within the NDC through robust administration, modernised communication, and intensive grassroots mobilisation.
He envisions a more proactive Deputy Regional Secretary’s office—one that seamlessly coordinates regional activities, actively supports branch and constituency executives, and sharpens the party’s organisational machinery.
”Our focus must be on rebuilding confidence among the party faithful, fostering unity within the rank and file, and bridging the gap between the regional secretariat and the grassroots,” Ofori Atta stated.
To achieve this, Ofori Atta intends to champion dedicated programmes that deepen youth participation in core party activities, while simultaneously strengthening political literacy and training across the region.
Furthermore, he plans to focus heavily on administrative efficiency by vastly improving the pipeline of communication between regional leadership and local party structures.
Ultimately, he believes a unified and highly organised regional executive is paramount to consolidating the party’s gains and elevating its performance ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Campaign Momentum Builds
Though the national NDC leadership has yet to release the official timetable for the 2026 regional executive elections, political momentum is already surging.
The POA2026 campaign team announced that Ofori Atta will soon embark on an extensive regional tour.
The tour aims to consult with branch executives, constituency officers, opinion leaders, and delegates to share its roadmap for organisational renewal.
The team emphasised that the campaign will remain strictly focused on inclusiveness and building the party from the ground up.
As one of the administrative backbones of the regional secretariat, the Deputy Regional Secretary plays a vital role in managing party records, implementing executive committee decisions, and supervising widespread organisational operations.
Ofori Atta’s high-profile entry introduces a dynamic media voice into an increasingly competitive field of aspirants vying to shape the NDC’s future in the Ashanti region.
