In a major effort to combat childhood malnutrition and promote community wellness, food and beverage manufacturer Promasidor Ghana marked World Milk Day 2026 by providing health assessments, nutrition education, and nourishing breakfasts to more than 10,000 schoolchildren across the Ashanti region.
The extensive outreach campaign spanned several selected school clusters, including T.I. Ahmadiyya Basic School, Afaus Lovely School, and Best Brain International.
The initiative also coincided with the 27th anniversary of Promasidor’s flagship Cowbell brand in Ghana, underscoring the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy and its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—specifically SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
During the event, dedicated healthcare teams conducted comprehensive medical screenings.
Medical professionals emphasised the critical role milk plays in childhood growth, particularly for cognitive development, sustained energy production, and robust immune systems.
Eric Osei Asenso, a Nursing Officer at the Asafo Boakye Specialist Hospital who led the health sessions, provided practical guidance to families on integrating regular milk intake into children’s diets to prevent common nutritional deficiencies.
Linda Akua Penni, Brand Executive at Promasidor, highlighted that the campaign was tailored to align with the global 2026 World Milk Day theme, which honours the vital contributions of women in dairy production and family nutrition.
Reflecting on the company’s nearly three-decade journey in the country, Mrs Penni expressed profound gratitude to Ghanaian families for their continuous patronage.
She reaffirmed Promasidor’s commitment to innovation, promising the ongoing introduction of affordable, fortified dairy solutions tailored to meet the evolving dietary and health needs of households across Ghana.
