The National House of Chiefs (NHC) has extended its warmest greetings to the global Muslim community on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, praising Ghanaian Muslims for their vital contributions to the country’s socio-economic development.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, 27th May 2026, the House called on all Ghanaians, regardless of faith, to use the “Festival of Sacrifice” as an opportunity to renew their commitment to national unity, peace, and mutual respect.
The statement was signed by the NHC Public Relations Officer, Mr Stephen Owusu, on behalf of the President of the House, with special blessings extended to Muslim members serving within the traditional council.
A Call for Unity and Sacrifice
The NHC emphasised the profound spiritual significance of Eid al-Adha, noting that the festival embodies core human values such as devotion, obedience, compassion, and generosity.
According to the House, the occasion serves as a timely reminder of shared humanity, equality, and the enduring importance of charity and selflessness.
In light of these values, the traditional leadership urged citizens to foster stronger bonds of fellowship to ensure sustained peace across the country and beyond.

The statement highly commended Ghanaian Muslims for their ongoing, active role in advancing national development.
The NHC specifically acknowledged the community’s significant impact across several key sectors, highlighting their critical involvement in education and spiritual leadership, the security services, and the transport and commercial sectors.
The NHC prayed that the festival would bring abundant blessings, renewed hope, and lasting harmony to the nation.
