MTN Ghana has announced a $1.1 billion investment plan over the next three years to expand infrastructure and strengthen network resilience across the country, with $380 million earmarked for allocation this year.
The announcement was disclosed by Ghana’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer of the company, Angela Mensah-Poku, during a Media and Stakeholder Engagement held at Ridge Condos in Kumasi.
Speaking at the event celebrating the company’s 30th anniversary under the theme “30 Years of Progress: Powered by You,” Ms Mensah-Poku emphasised that continuous investment in networks remains central to supporting Ghana’s growing digital economy and meeting surging consumer demand.
Beyond network infrastructure, capital expenditure will focus on cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data solutions to help local businesses and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in building operational resilience.
Enterprise expansion forms a core part of the telecom operator’s contribution to Ghana’s broader economic transformation, where it currently accounts for approximately 6 per cent of total national tax revenue.
Ms Mensah-Poku noted that while network expansion is an ongoing effort, the planned $380 million capital deployment for 2026 will directly bolster capacity in high-demand zones.
She also reaffirmed the company’s broader commitment to sustainability, including an ambition to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
