The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested four students from Ada Senior High Technical School after a disturbing video circulated widely on social media showing a student brandishing a cutlass and threatening his peers on campus.
The arrests took place following an immediate intervention by police night patrol units, who were dispatched to the school shortly after digital surveillance teams intercepted the footage online at approximately 12:10 a.m on Friday, 2nd May 2026.
Police authorities, working in conjunction with the school administration’s active assistance and cooperation, successfully identified and apprehended the suspects seen in the video.
The adult suspects taken into custody have been identified as Raymond Gyamfi, 18; Oscar Amemoair, 18; and Odartey Wilson, 18.
A fourth suspect, classified as a juvenile, was also arrested.
All four individuals remain in police custody and are currently assisting law enforcement with ongoing investigations.
The viral footage, which caused widespread concern among parents and the general public, depicted a volatile scene on the high school campus, raising urgent questions regarding student safety and secondary school security protocols.
In response to the incident, police authorities issued a stern warning to student populations nationwide.
“Students are advised to resolve disagreements peacefully through laid-down school structures and refrain from acts of violence or intimidation,” the police statement read
It added that parents and school authorities must strengthen guidance, supervision, and discipline to maintain safety and order across schools.
In an official statement signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Regional Police Command, the police assured the general public that comprehensive investigations are still underway.
The Command noted that further operational developments will be systematically communicated as the case progresses toward formal legal action.
