The Minister for the Interior and Member of Parliament for Asawase, Hon Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has donated substantial festive provisions to 13 constituencies in the Ashanti Region to support upcoming Eid al-Adha celebrations.
The donation, presented on behalf of the Minister by his Protocol Officer, Alhaji Mustapha Ayarga, underscores a commitment to fostering community welfare and solidarity across the region during the major Islamic festival.
Each of the 13 beneficiary constituencies received one cow alongside an assortment of essential food items, including bags of rice, cooking oil, and tomato paste.
The relief items are expected to assist local leadership in catering to vulnerable families and ensuring widespread participation in the seasonal festivities.
The beneficiary areas comprise a broad swath of the region, including Oforikrom, Subin, Nhyiaeso, Kwadaso, Manhyia North, Manhyia South, Tafo, Bantama, Suame, Asokwa, Ejisu, and Kwabre East, alongside the Minister’s home constituency of Asawase.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiary constituency chairpersons, Mr Nuru, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for Suame, expressed deep gratitude for the Minister’s gesture.
He commended Hon Muntaka for his consistent tradition of supporting local communities during major religious milestones.
Mr Nuru further led the delegation in offering prayers for the health and success of the President, the Interior Minister, and the leadership of the NDC, while expressing hope that the festive period would bring sustained peace, unity, and blessings across the nation.
