Ahead of the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency elections in Atwima Kwanwoma, delegates across various branch levels have thrown their weight behind Solomon Reuben Jabari and his campaign faction, “Team Jabari.”
The endorsement, announced following grassroots consultations across communities including Kokoben, Island City, and Aburaso, positions Jabari and his team as frontrunners to lead the governing party in the constituency.
The elections are slated for 24 or 25 October 2026, pending final approval from the party’s National Elections Committee.
Delegates supporting the faction cited Jabari’s philanthropic track record and grassroots support as key drivers for their endorsement.
Although he currently holds no formal constituency-level position, delegates pointed to his logistical contributions and donations during the 2024 general elections, alongside personal interventions such as business loans and educational assistance for members’ dependents.
Team Jabari features a slate of candidates contesting key executive positions, all positioned number one on the ballot paper.
Alongside Solomon Reuben Jabari for Constituency Chairman, the ticket includes incumbent Constituency Secretary Luqman Mumuni seeking re-election, Obiri Yeboah running for Vice Chairman, and Agyekum Francis contesting the position of Communications Officer.
Speaking on behalf of the collective, Luqman Mumuni stated that the endorsement reflects delegate satisfaction with the team’s contributions over the past four years.
He emphasised that the group remains focused on strengthening party structures to capture the Atwima Kwanwoma parliamentary seat from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2028 general elections.
Agyekum Francis echoed these sentiments, noting that while the endorsement bolsters their campaign momentum, the team intends to maintain active grassroots engagement across the constituency to prevent complacency ahead of polling day.
