Prince Ofori Atta, host of Adehye FM’s Morning Show, has successfully overturned his disqualification from contesting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ashanti Regional Deputy Secretary position following a successful appeal to the party’s national appeal committee in Kumasi.
The victory clears the broadcast journalist to enter the race ahead of the party’s regional executive elections, where he has pledged to deploy strategic wisdom, administrative capability, and courage to fortify the NDC for the 2028 general elections.
”We serve a living God… I have won the case on appeal, and I’m at aseɛ hɔ [at the bottom of the ballot paper],” Mr Ofori Atta announced, expressing gratitude to his supporters for their backing throughout the appeal process.
He confirmed that he will occupy the number four spot on the ballot.
”I bring on board knowledge, competence, courage, and wisdom that will help push our party forward going into the 2028 elections,” he declared.
Addressing the financial realities of modern campaigning, Mr Ofori Atta argued that while money is essential to political organisation, it should not serve as the primary criterion for electing leaders.
”I have heard a lot of people say that the election is about money. Yes, I believe that politics cannot in any way flourish without money or flourish in poverty; money is part of it,” he noted.
He added: “But my message to all of them is that money should not be the basis upon which someone is going to vote for a candidate. If you don’t choose competence, knowledge, and courage over everything, after the elections it is going to be difficult for us, and I hope that the delegates will do the needful.”
Reaffirming his confidence in the party’s grassroots electors, he dismissed claims that political delegates are untrustworthy.
“Others hold the view in other political parties that they are afraid of delegates. I am not afraid of the NDC delegates; rather, I trust them because at all times they choose competent leaders for this great party,” he affirmed.
