The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, in collaboration with the Alpha Ridwan Media Foundation, has donated and slaughtered 100 head of cattle to support less privileged families and key public institutions in Kumasi during the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
The joint initiative by the Turkey- and Ghana-based non-governmental organisations aims to provide nutritional support and bring festive joy to thousands of residents across the Kumasi metropolis and its adjoining districts.
The mass slaughter and distribution exercise commenced today at Ahwiaa, where 50 cows were processed. Joyous residents queued up at the site to receive free packages of beef to celebrate the Islamic festival of sacrifice.
According to the organisers, the remaining 50 cattle will be distributed over the next 24 hours. Twenty are scheduled for processing at Atwima Koforidua, while the final 30 will be processed tomorrow at the Ahwiaa site.

Speaking to the media, Malam Ridwan, Chief Executive Officer of the Alpha Ridwan Media Foundation, explained that the funding for the multi-district charity drive was raised entirely through voluntary individual contributions.
He emphasised that the initiative was designed to touch both vulnerable households and essential public services.

Malam Ridwan also urged Ghanaians of all backgrounds to prioritise peace, love, and unity to safeguard the stable and harmonious atmosphere the country currently enjoys.
