ECOWAS COMMUNITY COURT OF JUSTICE RE-ELECTS PRESIDENT AND HIS VICE

The President of the Ecowas Court, Justice Edward Amoako Asante and his Vice President, Justice Gberi-be Outttara has been re-elected to serve for another two terms.

During an election conducted on Wednesday, 15th July, 2020 by five judges which include, Justice Edward Amoako Asante (Ghana) President, Gberi-be Outtara (La Cote D’Ivoire) Vice President, Dupe Atoki (Nigeria), Keiukura Bangura (Sierra Leone), and Januaria T.S Moreira Costa (Cape Verde).

In a press release issued by the Ecowas Community Court of Justice, on 16th July, 2020 Justice Asante acknowledged and thank his colleagues for giving him the chance to serve for another term.

He said,

“I want to use this opportunity to thank my colleagues for the honor done me and my country Ghana for re-ELECTION, which shows that they approve of the trajectory which we are collectively taking the court towards”.

He also stated along the line that,

“I also want to comment them for working tirelessly together in CONTRIBUTING to the modest achievements we have achieved since coming on board, which are manifested in the significant improvements recorded in the swift and effective disposal of cases since we took office two years ago”.
