Information gathered so far reveals that despite the increasing cases of the novel Coronavirus Schools in Ghana won’t be closed down now unless the Ghana Health Service orders so.
Following the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases in Ghana most things have become very chaotic and both parents and students have started protesting for closure of schools.
The Chaiman of Ghana Education Service responding to the request stated that its too early to suspend schools.
According to him unless he receives any news from Ghana Health Service, Schools will not be closed or suspended now.
“For me, it is to early to say that because of that we should close down schools. We depend on the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Services to inform on this matter
Recall that the President of NAGRAT ,A gel Carbonu recently called for school closure following the outbreak at Accra Girls Senior High School and some other schools which are yet to be known by the media.
Following the directive of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo that schools should reopen to final year students to enable them write their exit exams, all final year SHS and Form Two Gold Track students returned to school on Monday, June 22.
