Partial lockdown by Government is enough to manage covid-19 spread – Dr Okoe-Boye

Deputy minister of health, Dr. Okoe -Boye is of the opinion that there is no need for a complete lockdown for the nation. According to his the partial lockdown by the government is enough to stop the spread of COVID -19 in the country.

He further said that with the borders closed, “mandatory quarantine”, isolation and imposition of restrictions on movements, “social distancing” and handwashing measures all put in place there is no need for a complete lockdown.

The reported cases are increasing largely due to the large numbers of samples that have been taken since the first cases were recorded on March 11 this year and this would have been in the thousands by now if the government had not taken the required measures to stem the rapid spread, Dr. Okoe -Boye said.
