- KNUST SHS STUDENTS PROTEST OVER DEATH OF COLLEAGUE AFTER BEING NEGLECTED BY STAFF OVER FEAR OF COVID-19
A KNUST senior high business student died yesterday Tuesday, 7th July, 2020 after complaining of stomach pain amidst vomiting for more than three hours without being given any medical attention.
The staffs, fearing the deceased might have contracted the deadly covid-19 left him unattended to while waiting for his father to arrive. The victim who was spotted by kind hearted colleagues was taken into one of the classroom blocks while waiting for his father, while staffs watched unconcerned.
The father who later arrived at the scene conveyed his son to a nearby health facility where he later died.
Students after hearing the death of their colleague went on a protest, smashing the headteacher’s saloon car with stones.
Armed police officers arrived at the scene just in time to calm the protest.
